I was reading the Pink Penguin yesterday and totally freaked out when she blogged about buying this pattern at a thrift shop. I have this pattern, and amazingly I was able to put my hands on it!

But what is even more amazing is that I was able to find this picture of me (and my first husband, John, before we were married) wearing the dress that I made from it. And yes, it really was that short!

so the question is... why don't you make ME clothes with your cool old vintage patterns?!?

I am the one who freaked out when I saw this posting! (Thanks a lot for your e-mail!!!)
It is absolutely amazing that you found the pattern and this beautiful picture!! You look stunning in this picture and I can't believe you made this. You were even excellent at sewing back then! It looks like a dress I would find at boutique in S.F. or something. You made the dress that I was most interested in making too, so now I'm getting serious about making it. Thanks again so much for looking for the picture and showing us!!!

Cute dress! Love the pattern, I wish I had taken some photos of dresses I made in my younger days, let alone saved the pattern! Thanks for sharing, I heard about you through the Pink Penquin.
